Many thanks for all the pointers. We've gone down the route of de-serialising the xml from the LE and based upon schema's we've put together for the question types & results, we'll populate the tables with the data using XQuery. Data needs to converted to plain text (rather than left in xml types) since we need to report on the data using business objects.
