Thank you Jon,
I think that was just what I was looking for.
Best wishes,
Dick.

Dick, Helen:
Check out the templateDefault class (http://imsglobal.org/question/qtiv2p1pd2/imsqti_infov2p1pd2.html#element10531). This allows an assessmentTest to push new values to templates in items. Of course to use this you need to arrange your items in a test...

Hi,
I echo this - I can certainly see situations where this would be very useful. Unfortunately I don't know the documentation well enough to know if it exists at the moment.
Cheers,
Helen

Subject: v2 import of template values
Hi folks,
It would be convenient to be able to pass template variable values into a question item
at the time the question is rendered. e.g. a question heading, or text or numeric values
from an earlier question, or from another outside context. I cannot find any reference
within the v2 spec to any template processing element that could support this.
I am refering to pieces of information that would not form part of the source xml of the
question.
Does anyone know if this has already been addressed by someone else?
Or have I just overlooked the appropriate place in the documentation?
Has anyone else felt the need?
Any thoughts?
Dick.
