[QTI] Adaptive?

Just one thing to add to this response.

Even non-adaptive items can be attempted multiple times -- indeed, the
itemSessionControl element used in a test has a maxAttempts attribute to
control the number of allowed attempts (for non-adaptive items) during a
test. The critical difference is that non-adaptive items behave the
same at each attempt (particularly with respect to scoring).

On the other hand, *adaptive* items can behave differently at each
attempt as Pierre describes.
